There is a law referred to as the Law of Sowing and Reaping. I was blessed to have learned this at a young age. As I began to practice this, I soon discovered this was God’s way for individuals to prosper.
I remember hearing a preacher say if you find yourself in time of need then sow a seed.
So, it is in our time of need that if we are looking for opportunities to be blessed or to bless others, we have to learn to sow a seed. You see one way to get what you want or desire is by giving away what you need. If you need happiness don't sit around in self-pity. Go out and make somebody else happy. God will use that seed to bring you happiness. If you need health, go help somebody else get well. If you want God to solve your problems, take your mind off yourself and go help solve somebody else's problem. You have to give away what you need or desire.
Now this goes against human nature. If I'm discouraged, I want you to cheer me up. If I'm struggling with my finances, I don't want to bless you. I want you to bless me. But it works just the opposite. When God sees you getting outside of yourself when he sees you being good to somebody even though you're struggling, he sees you cheering up a friend even though you've been through a disappointment, he sees you praying for somebody to get well even though you don't feel well, that's the seed God will use to bring a harvest back into your own life. So, if you have a need then sow a seed.
“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and
shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with
the same measure that you give it shall be measured to you again.” Like 6:38
